Windstorm is a wind of sufficient violence to be capable of damaging insured property. This is sometimes referred to as an "Act of God".
Windstorm can cause damage to trees causing them to hit homes. This damage to the roof or walls of the home can allow rain, hail or snow to enter the home and damage property. Your insurance policy would respond to this type of resultant water damage.
Damage paid for the roof or siding would depend on the condition of the structure. A house in poor repair or in need of new shingles or siding will not get full repair or replacement without some consideration of betterment. You may have to pay a portion of the repairs as you are receiving a significant upgrade.
Do everything you can to reduce the amount of damage. Contact your insurance company right away. Do not remove any damaged items. Keep yourself and your family from harm.
