Will Toyota make your payment?

If a suit is sucessful against Toyota then your car payments could be paid!

There is a national class action lawsuit in the United States against Toyota Motor Corp. This has been filed under the federal rackateering statute. This has been filed at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.

At this point the allegations have not been proven in a court. The class action focuses on the defects but it also points out that Toyota appears to have deceived its car owners and the Toyota car dealers in regards to the mechanical and electrical problems in their vehicles.

if the suit is acceptable to the courts then Toyota drivers would qualify for temporary relief from their monthly lease or loan payments if they tend their vehicles for the government-approved repairs.

It makes sense. The Toyota owners don't have to make payments on vehicles they cannot safely drive. It would encourage people to bring in their vehicles and get them repaired. Unfortunately only about 10% of the owners of vehicles take advantage of recall. This could leave a lot of vehicles on the streets that might be considered dangerous.

What do you think of this plan? Would it encourage you to bring your vehicle in for the necessary repairs?
