Waiting Period

Group insurance plans have a waiting period which is usually from 30 days to six months. This is the time an employee must wait from his/her date of employment or application for coverage, to the date his/her insurance is effective. This group plan will usually include life insurance, disability insurance and excess medical benefits which could include chiropractic, massage therapy, dental, eye examinations and eye glasses, and prescriptions. Group plans are often optional for certain types of coverage with the life insurance component being mandatory.
