VICC

The Vehicle Information Centre of Canada (VICC) was started in 1989. It gives an analysis of insurance claims for different vehicles. This is a part of the Insurance Institute of Canada.

Every year, the VICC (Vehicle Information Center of Canada) reviews and amends it's rate group table, which in turn affects how the automobile insurance industry rates vehicles.

The rating is applied to the physical damage portion of coverages. So the collision and upset could have a different rate group than the comprehensive for the same vehicle. With these rate groups going up it can be a big increase on your insurance if your insurance company has increased rates as well.

Talk to your agent or broker. Are you getting the best rates? Are you rated correctly for the use of your vehicle?
