Double stroller recalled

Do you have twins? Zooper Tango Double Strollers recalled

Parents of twins or who have two very young children should be on the alert. On August 26 2010 Health Canada recalled the Zooper Tango Double Strollers with model numbers SL808B and SL808F and production dates ranging from January 1, 2007 through April 30, 2008. The model numbers are printed on the original packaging. The production dates are printed on the warning labels attached to the seats. Be advised that only Zooper strollers with a black plastic frame latch are included in this recall.

You need to confirm that the word "Zooper" is printed on the stroller canopies and grab bars. The web address "" is printed on the basket under the stroller seats. Zooper strollers with a chrome frame latch are not included in this recall.

What is the danger?

The black frame latch above the front wheels on the stroller can fail when the stroller hits an object. This can cause the stroller to unexpectedly collapse. This has resulted in minor scrapes, cuts and bruises.

The distributor in the United States, Lan Enterprises, has received 185 reports of frame latch failures. It has been reported that in one incident, a 13-month-old boy and a 3-year-old boy received scrapes and bruises when their stroller hit a sidewalk and the stroller collapsed. Health Canada has received one report of a child sustaining cuts to her knees after the frame latch collapsed and caused her to fall onto pavement.

You should immediately stop using the recalled strollers and contact the Canadian distributor, PJM, to schedule an appointment for the installation of a free replacement chrome latch at either the Vancouver or Toronto service centres.

If you live outside of these service centres you can either send your stroller to the nearest service centre for repair or contact PJM to obtain a free repair kit by mail. The company is providing support to people who purchased their stroller in Canada.
