What is it with tornadoes and trailers?

Tornadoes seem to be drawn like magnets to trailer parks. Perhaps we are more aware of this damage because it is usually so extensive.

June 2010 in Midland Ontario has seen a tornado attacking Smith's Camp Trailer Park. This time it was seasonal trailers.

There are reports of missing trailers and there is quite a bit of damage. With the tornado season starting it is a good idea to keep an eye open for warnings on the internet and listen to your radio. If you hear of a red alert then everyone in the area, including motorists and boaters, has to go indoors immediately and seek shelter.

Pine Lake and Edmonton have suffered major damage to homes and recreational trailers in Alberta. Now we see tornado season coming again.

The most extensive tornado was the Super Outbreak. This affected southern Ontario and a large part of the central United States. It last for two days, April 3 and April 4, 1974. During this time there were 148 tornadoes with 16 tornadoes on the ground at the same time. More then 300 people were killed as a result of this disaster.
