Table saw safety recall

On December 14, 2010 Health Canada ordered a recall on Ryobi® Ten-Inch RTS20 Table-Saws.

The recall involves the Ryobi RTS20 Table-Saw sold from July 1, 2010 to October 31, 2010 at Home Depot Canada stores. The table-saw has a blue base and warning label attached to the rear of the saw with the model number RTS20 and the Ryobi name printed on it.

What is the danger?

The motor carriage on the table-saw may have been damaged during transport, which could cause the saw blade to become misaligned and create a laceration hazard for consumers.

At the time of the recall Health Canada has not received any reports of injuries related to the use of these affected units.

What should I do?

You should immediately stop using the affected units and contact Ryobi immediately to receive a free inspection, and if necessary a free repair or replacement of their RTS20 Ryobi Table-Saw.

If you want more information you can contact Ryobi at 1-800-597-9624 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday, or visit the Ryobi Tools' website.

How many were sold and where?

Approximately 427 affected units were sold at Home Depot Canada stores across Canada from July 1, 2010 to October 31, 2010.

These table saws were manufactured in China by Ningbo Shengye Electric Appliance Co., Ltd. of China.
