Sask. Government privacy slip-up

A government slip-up in Saskatchewan has resulted in some personal information being mailed to the wrong people.

It was recently revealed that 136 fine collection letters which were attached to "Notice of Conviction" letters, were mailed to the wrong address.

The collection letters had the person's name, address, offense information and date of birth. The error happened because the Notice of Conviction letters arrived with an attached list of court locations. The collection letter also had the list printed on the reverse side.

Of course, the government is making changes so this will not happen again. Any person who had personal information released in this method will be contacted.
