Rehabilitation

In regards to accident and sickness policies this can refer to:

(1) The restoration of a totally disabled person to a meaningful occupation,

(2) a provision in some long-term disability policies that provides for continuation of benefits or other financial assistance while a totally disabled insured is attempting or retraining to resume productive employment.

Accident Benefits under the automobile policy provides for physical rehabilitation in an attempt to restore the injured person(s) to their former standard of health just before the accident occurred. The payment of the expenses is as actually incurred as a result of an accident or sickness, but not to exceed any amount specified in the policy.
