Rebating

The practice of rebating is to give any valuable consideration which is usually related to the commission, to the insured or client as an inducement to renew or buy an insurance policy. Rebating is prohibited.

Any reward that is offered in regards to the purchase of insurance would have to be examined by the provincial or territorial supervisory bodies.

An agent or broker will often offer to remarket your policy if there is better coverage or lower rates available for your needs. This is not a rebate.
