Photo Radar

What is photo radar and how does it affect my insurance?

This type of radar measures the speed of a vehicle and triggers a camera to take a picture of the vehicle if it is speeding. The picture will clearly show the license plate.

Photo radar is operated from a car so it can be moved around and target specific areas where speeding has become a problem.

You will also see photo radar used on multi-lane highways, construction sites, playground areas and schools.

When photo radar is used in a community there is a decrease in injury collisions by 25% when used at the highest risk locations.

Photo radar tickets do not appear on your abstract. So they do not affect your insurance.
