Have you been phone scammed?

Phone scam warnings are being spread in Saskatchewan. Restaurant owners are being targetted.

The health inspector who has phone you might not be the "real thing". Beware if you do get a call from someone claiming to be a health inspector. They will ask you to accept a follow-up call whereby you enter a registration code.

This is not a true health inspector. Health inspectors do not ask you to enter codes. This sets up your phone line so that the person can make free phone calls.

This scam is spreading across the country. If you do get a phone call like this then you should call your local health region. Also call the Canadian Anti-fraud Call Centre, commonly known as Phone Busters, 1-888-495-8501.
