Occupational Hazard

Certain types of work have a higher degree of risk then others. When considering life or disability insurance this is part of the rating.

Some of the classifications that are deemed higher risk would include rodeo, race car driver, steelworker and fishermen. The more sedentary occupations such as accountant, government worker, lawyer or doctor are deemed to be less risky.

One of the reasons that people buy life insurance at a younger age is to be sure that they will qualify and get a reasonable rate later in life. It is not just your health but what you do that affects the premiums you will pay.

Talk to your agent or broker about your options.
