Negligent Misrepresentation

Definition
A false representation made without the intent to deceive the other party - this is done in innocence. With insurance contracts you are required to show the utmost honesty.

Was the error intentional?
If you have made an innocent error then this might not be held against you. If the error was deliberate and perceived as an intent to deceive then there can be serious repercussions.

What you can do
If you think that there has been a misunderstanding between you and the insurance company you should discuss this with your agent or broker.
