Insurance Adjusters Council
Insurance adjusters are governed by rules. They have licensing requirements and are held to a certain ethical standard.
Insurance adjuster can work as employees of the insurance company or they can be independent. Adjusters are accountable for their actions. They must treat people respectfully and courteously. If you have a complaint with your adjuster's behavior then you notify the insurance company. Normally there will be a new adjuster put on your file.
Just as brokers and agents are governed the adjuster can be disciplined. If you have a problem that is not getting better then you can contact the insurance council for your province or territory.
