Hostile Fire Exception

Hostile Fire Exception refers to pollution coverage under the Commercial General Liability (CGL) insurance policy for your business. This specific coverage applies to bodily injury or property damage arising for the heat, smoke or fumes from a hostile fire.

So if your building catches fire and toxic fumes are released into the neighborhood then anyone who suffers a bodily injury would have a claim that could be presented under your insurance. So though your policy will exclude pollution coverage your claim would be examined if this is your circumstance.

Talk to your agent or broker. Take control of your insurance. Turners Tips recommends that you examine your policy closely and ask questions if you do not know the answer.
