Honda Accord Crosstour recall

2010 Honda Accord Crosstour recall

September 20, 2010 - be advised that there is a problem with about 3,330 certain model 2010 Accord Crosstour vehicles. The air bags are an issue.

This is not a first for Honda. In February 2010 Honda had over 438,000 vehicles on recalll because of issues with the airbags. There has been one death related to Honda airbags on some late model vehicles. These vehicles include some 2001 and 2002 Accord, Civic, Odyssey and CR-V models and some 2002 Acura TLs.

What is the danger?

The front passenger airbag may not have been assembled to the correct specifications. If there was a crash then the front passenger airbag may not deploy as intended. This could place an unbelted child seated in the front passenger seat at a great risk of injury should the airbag deploy.

What do I do?

Honda dealers will inspect, and if necessary, replace the passenger air bag module free of charge. The safety recall is expected to begin by September 22, 2010.
