Forklift smashes wine bottles

That has to be alcohol abuse when 462 cases of the 2010 Mollydooker Velvet Glove Shiraz were smashed after a forklift suffered a malfunction that caused a container holding 1/3 of the winemaker’s annual production to crash to the ground. This shattered the bottles, crushed the cartons and will result in more than a $1 million loss of the specialty wine.
.
The wine was valued at $185 Australian dollars - about $190 Canadian dollars. The wine bottles destroyed totaled up to 5, 532. It was hoped to have been the best year ever for the winery so expect that the price has increased due to the rarity.

Insurance was in place and the winery will be reimbursed for the value of the wine. Insurance is in the business of paying claims. Be sure that you have considered what you need to protect your business. Talk to your broker. Take control of your insurance.
