Durabrand sandwich maker recalled

On January 14, 2011 Health Canada had to recall sandwich makers sold by Wal-Mart due to the risk of injury.

The recall involves the sandwich maker sold under the name "Durabrand" by Wal-Mart Canada Corp. The Sandwich Maker can be identified by the Model Number S663F.

What is the danger?

The sides of the handles have sharp edges which may pose a laceration hazard to users.

At time of the recall Health Canada has not any received reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of this product.

What should I do?

You should immediately stop using the Sandwich Maker and return the product to the nearest Wal-Mart Canada Retail Store for full refund.

How many were sold and where?

Approximately 301 units of the recalled products were sold at Wal-Mart Canada Corp. retail stores across Canada. These sandwich makers were sold from October 2010 to December 2010.

The recalled product was manufactured in China. The manufacturer is Cuori Electrical Appliances Co. Ltd. The importer is Wal-Mart Canada Corp. of Mississauga, Ontario.
