Drugged or drunk and drive can kill

January 2011 and young people are still taking drugs or drinking and driving.

We are seeing drivers who were 18 years-old or under involved in fatal car crashes who had drugs in their system as opposed to alcohol (30.4% versus 29.6%). The study that was done between Allstate Insurance Company of Canada and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), stated that more than 60% of those who use illegal drugs are between 15 and 24 years old.

It is not just in Canada as we also see a report in January 2011 that a California man was sentenced to 51 years to life in prison for drunk driving. This driver is just 24 years-old and was already on probation for drunk driving.

In 2009, Andrew Gallo ran a red light while he was drunk and hit a car carrying rookie Los Angeles Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart. There were thee passengers in the vehicle with Adenhart. One of the passengers was severely injured and the other two passengers died.

Think before you drink and drive! That single decision can affect the rest of life. Choose wisely.
