Drain opener recall

W01-032 Clear Drain Liquid Opener is recalled August 3, 2010

The Liquid Drain Opener with model number W01-032, sold under the brand name "Clear Drain" by Hansol Industries Inc. has been recalled. This drain cleaner comes in a 909 mL white plastic bottle with a red label and white child-resistant cap.

Why is product recalled?

The product does not meet the requirements set under Canadian Law. Health Canada does audits to make sure that products are compliant. The lack of labelling information which includes appropriate warnings, may lead to serious injury. At this point neither Health Canada nor Hansol Industries Inc. has received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of these products.

What do I do?

You should immediately stop using the product. Return it to the place of purchase for a replacement label. After the replacement label is received and affixed on the container, the product can be used safely again. Be sure to follow all safety warnings and statements. You may also dispose of the product as per Municipal Hazardous Waste Guidelines if you do not want a new label.
