Crib "Suzy" recalled for safety reasons

Baby cribs recalled - "Suzy" by Meubles Adams et Fils Ltée.

On September 1 2010 Health Canada recalled Trama-brand cribs distributed by Meubles Adams et Fils Ltée. The recalled cribs have the model name "Suzy".

What is the danger?

Health Canada has a sampling and evaluation program. This program has revealed that the recalled cribs did not meet various requirements under the Cribs and Cradles Regulations of the Hazardous Products Act. An example is that the size and shape of the openings between the slats of wood lateral sides of the cribs exceed the width allowed to the point that they may pose suffocation or strangulation hazards to children in or around the crib.

At this point neither Health Canada nor Meubles Adams et Fils Ltée. has received reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these cribs.

What do I do?

You should stop using the recalled cribs and immediately contact Meubles Adams et Fils Ltée. for instructions on receiving replacement lateral sides. To get more information, you may contact Meubles Adams et Fils Ltée. at 1- 877-376-9755.

How many of these units were sold and where?
There were about 100 of the cribs sold in one retail store in Vancouver and in various retail stores in Quebec between January 2009 and August 2010. The cribs were manufactured in Portugal. They were distributed by Meubles Adams et Fils Ltée. of Trois-Rivières, Quebec
