Chrysler recalls on vehicle defects

Chrysler has voluntarily recalled 44,000 vehicles in Canada. This is a result of an investigation which revealed some models have brakes that could fail and doors that can catch fire.

Jeep Wranglers from 2007-2010 are the largest group. About 29,000 have been targeted in the recall because of the possibility of leaking brake fluids which could lead to bake failure. This is a result of one of the fasteners holding inner-fender lining in place may be loose so that line can come into contact with the brake lane or the plastic could wear into the brake over time resulting in brake failure.

Town and Country models and Dodge Grand Caravans total up approximately 15,000 vehicles that have been recalled. This recall affects the 2008 and 2009 models who could have a problem with the electrical system. A sort circuit in the latch for the sliding door could lea to overheating or a fire.

At this point Chrysler is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to these issues. The affected vehicles will be repair or replaced at no cost.
