Child sex penalties toughen up
There is a new proposed legislation in Canada called, Protecting Children from Sexual Predators Act.
This will reword the existing Criminal Code ban on Internet luring, to make it clear that "rooming" young people online by the transmission of sexually explicit material fits the definition of a crime and that the offender will get at least 90 days in jail.
The idea behind the changes is to make it consistent across the country about crimes such as exposure, incest, Internet luring and sexual assault.
