Boys polo pajamas recalled

On December 22, 2010 the "Tandra Fashions" Boys Polo Pyjama Set was ordered recalled by Health Canada.

This recall involves Boys 2-Piece Polo Pyjama set sold under the brand name "Tandra Fashions". The set includes a blue t-shirt with "MOTO MX 76" printed on the chest area, and black boxer shorts with a green design. The sleepwear is made of 65% polyester and 35% cotton.

You can identify the sleepwear by the style number 1067 and UPC 156773000379 printed on the hang tag on the inside of the sleepwear.

What is the danger?

Health Canada has determined that the fabric content of the polo pyjama does not meet the design and flammability requirements for children's sleepwear under Canadian law.

Children's sleepwear that is loose fitting or that has loose edges can contact ignition sources such as stove elements, candles, and matches more easily than tight-fitting sleepwear. Once ignited the sleepwear can burn rapidly and cause severe burns to large areas of the child's body, resulting in shock and sometimes death.

At time of the recall Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of this sleepwear.

What should I do?

You should immediately take the recalled sleepwear away from children and contact Tandra Fashions for further instructions. For more information, you may contact Tandra Fashions at 1-514-382-9341.

How many were sold and where?

Approximately 1,580 units of the recalled products were sold exclusively at L'Aubainerie stores in Quebec from January 2010 to June 2010.

The recalled pajamas were made in Bangladesh and imported by Modes Tandra Fashions Inc. of Montreal, Quebec. The distributor is Créations Bernard B of Montreal, Quebec.
