"Flame projection" is the flame that results from the ignition of the chemical that is discharged from the spray container. The length of the flame projection generated by these products exceeds the Canadian regulated limit thereby posing a potential fire hazard.

At time of the recall neither Outdoor Gear Canada nor Health Canada has received any reports of incidents or illnesses related to the use of these products.

What should I do?

You should immediately stop using the affected products and return them to the place of purchase where they will have a replacement aerosol nozzle installed free of charge. If you do not wish to return the products then you should dispose of them according to Municipal Hazardous Waste Guidelines.

How many were sold and where?

Approximately 24,000 of the affected products were sold at various retailers across Canada.

These lubricants and degreasers were sold from September 2009 to February 2011.

The product was manufactured in United States by Finish Line Technologies, Inc. of Bay Shore, New York. The importer is Outdoor Gear Canada, of St. Laurent, Quebec.
