Bbq by Rona recalled for fire hazard

On July 15, 2011 the DURO Propane Gas Barbecues Model 720-0584A has been recalled.

This recall involves DURO propane gas barbecues model text 720-0584A and serial number beginning by 720xxJB0584A and followed by seven characters specific to the barbecue.

What is the danger?

The recalled products may be affected by a manufacturing defect which causes long flames to come out of the rear burner during ignition of the barbecues.

In cooperation with Health Canada, RONA is voluntarily recalling these barbecues.

Health Canada is aware of one consumer complaint related to the use of this barbecue; however, no injury or damage has been reported.

What should I do?

Customers who have these products in their possession should immediately stop using them and return them to Réno-Dépôt or RONA stores or call the customer service center at 1-866-283-2239 toll-free for further information.

How many were sold and where?

Approximately 990 of the recalled Duro barbecues were sold in Réno-Dépôt stores in Quebec and all RONA stores throughout Canada.

These dangerous recalled products were sold from March 2011 to July 2011. the barbecues were manufactured in China. The manufacturer is Rona Inc., of Boucherville, Quebec.
