Bakugan Battle Brawler childrens pj recall

On December 17, 2010 Health Canada recalled the Bakugan Long-Sleeved Pyjama Sets for children.

The recall involves a Bakugan-themed pyjama set made of 100% cotton. The top and bottom are long-sleeved and come in blue and black, or red and black. The bottoms have "Bakugan Battle Brawlers" printed on the waistband. Style 4021273LA and CA07465 can be found on a tag attached to the sleepwear.

What is the danger?

This recalled sleepwear does not meet the design and flammability requirements for children's sleepwear under Canadian law.

Health Canada advises that children's sleepwear that is loose fitting or that has loose edges can contact ignition sources such as stove elements, candles, and matches more easily than tight-fitting sleepwear. Once ignited, the sleepwear can burn rapidly and cause severe burns to large areas of the child's body, resulting in shock and sometimes death.

At time of the recall neither Health Canada nor L'Aubainerie has received reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these pyjamas.

What should I do?

You should immediately take the recalled sleepwear away from children and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

These pyjama sets were manufactured in China. The importer is Fame Jeans Inc. of Montreal, Quebec and the retailer is L'Aubainerie of Anjou, Quebec.
