Baby sock and legging product recall

On January 28, 2011 Baby Leg Warmers and Socks by Baby United LLC have been recalled by Health Canada.

The recall involves only these BabyLegs brand leg warmers, ankle-high socks and knee-high socks adorned with a heart-shape appliqué. The recalled products are pink, white or purple cable knit socks and leg warmers.

What is the danger?

The leg warmers and socks have a heart appliqué that can detach, which creates a choking hazard to young children.

Baby United LLC has received one report of an infant choking on the heart-shaped appliqué. Her mother was able to dislodge the appliqué from her throat. No medical attention was required.

At the time of the recall Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these products.

What should I do?

You should immediately take the recalled socks and leg warmers away from children. You can fully remove and discard the heart appliqué to eliminate the hazard and return the recalled product to the place of purchase for a full refund or exchange.
