Animal Feed

Animal feed and insurance - what's the connection?

A claim for over $150 million dollars was the result when a little-known but highly toxic chemical was accidentally mixed with some animal feed. This resulted in the death of almost 30,000 cattle, 1.5 million chicken, almost 6,000 hogs and 1,500 sheep.

If you distribute feed for animals then you need to carry a high limit of insurance. This type of a claim could bring your company to bankruptcy.

Talk to your agent or broker about your limits of insurance. Consider your risk management practices to help reduce the possibility of such a claim occurring.
