Actively At Work Provision

The actively at work provision is that when a group insurance plan is beginning the employee must be at work on the day that the insurance is going to begin.

If the employee is away due to sickness or injury then the coverage for that particular employee will not begin until they return to work.

If you found yourself in this situation of being sick or injured and unable to attend work on the date of the group plan change then you could ask to have this provision waived. Depending on your circumstances this option may be available to you. Talk to your agent, broker or group plan administrator.
